Fashion and accepted methods of evaluation of scientific outcomes force us to create permanently new methods and techniques. If we let us to be driven by (potentially) practical needs we shall find that a full exploitation of existing techniques and methodologies is predominantly more fruitful. This general observation will be illustrated on general decision-making problems and their solution within, more-or-less standard, Bayesian setting.
