Abstract:
The presentation gives an introduction of multiscale methods in affine invariant recognition and registration. It will begin with a comprehensive overview of the properties of the multiscale approach and by presenting the key ideas how to combine this approch to the conventional methods. The presented approach is illustrated in several examples of affine invariant methods and registration techniques. These examples include methods like multiscale autoconvolution and generalized affine moment invariants. In addition some numerical results are presented in order to give idea about the performance of the approaches.
