Among others, they provide tools for enhancing speech signals when they are disturbed by unknown noise or other interfering signals in the mixture. This paper considers a recent time-domain BSS method that is based on a complete decomposition of a signal subspace into components that should be independent. The components are used to reconstruct images of original signals using an ad hoc weighting, which influences the final performance of the method markedly. We propose a novel weighting scheme that utilizes block-Toeplitz structure of signal matrices and relies thus on an established property. We provide experiments with blind speech separation and speech recognition that prove the better performance of the modified BSS method.
<action target="WRD"> <ARLID>cav_un_auth*0274144</ARLID> <name>Interspeech 2011 Florence, 12thAnnual Conference of the International Speech Communication Association</name> <place>Florence</place> <dates>28.08.2011-31.08.2011</dates> <country>IT</country> </action> <reportyear>2012</reportyear> <RIV>BB</RIV> <num_of_auth>3</num_of_auth> <permalink>http://hdl.handle.net/11104/0199458</permalink> <arlyear>2011</arlyear> <unknown tag="mrcbU56"> 161 kB </unknown> <unknown tag="mrcbU63"> cav_un_epca*0363797 Proceedings of the 12th Annual Conference of the International Speech Communication Association (Interspeech 2011) 1990-9772 561 564 Florence ISCA, International Speech Communication Association 2011 </unknown> </cas_special> </bibitem>
