This procedure is relatively very simple and gives good results in practice. However, in case when data are corrupted by outliers, the classical technique of exponential smoothing can fail. This situation calls for an application of robust statistics methods to exponential smoothing.
<action target="WRD"> <ARLID>cav_un_auth*0212947</ARLID> <name>ProbaStat 2002 /4./</name> <place>Smolenice</place> <country>SK</country> <dates>04.02.2002-08.02.2002</dates> </action> <RIV>BB</RIV> <department>SI</department> <permalink>http://hdl.handle.net/11104/0130973</permalink> <ID_orig>UTIA-B 20020100</ID_orig> <arlyear>2002</arlyear> <unknown tag="mrcbU10"> 2002 </unknown> <unknown tag="mrcbU10"> Bratislava Faculty of Mathematics </unknown> <unknown tag="mrcbU63"> Abstracts of the Fourth International Conference on Mathematical Statistics.
