This paper derives analytic closed form expressions that characterize separation quality of both one-unit and symmetric version of the algorithm in a local sense. Based on the analysis it is possible to combine advantages of the two versions. Computer simulations demonstrate validaty of the theoretical expressions in the case of arbitrary initialization and moderate data lengths.</abstract> <abstract language="cze" primary="0">Algoritmus FastICA je jeden z dosud nejvíce používaných algoritmů pro analýzu nezávislých komponent. V článku jsou odvozeny teoretické výrazy charakterizující schopnost separace nezávislých komponent tímto algoritmem v závislosti na použité variantě algoritmu (algoritmus separující jednu komponentu a symetrický algoritmus), na použité volitelné nelineární funkci a na pravděpodobnostním rozložení odhadovaných komponent.
