Once an object’s digital model is created it can be digitally reconstructed to its original uneroded or unbroken shape or realistically visualized using different historical materials. Some artifacts are so fragile that they cannot leave the carefully controlled light, humidity, and temperature of their storage facilities, thus they are already inaccessible to the public, and the viable alternative is their exhibition in the form of an augmented reality scene. We present a sophisticated measurement and processing setup, which we have developed, to enable the construction of physically correct virtual models. This setup is illustrated on the reconstruction of one of the best known Celtic artifact from the European Iron Age period to its original uncorrupted form.
<action target="WRD"> <ARLID>cav_un_auth*0341364</ARLID> <name>2016 International Workshop on Computational Intelligence for Multimedia Understanding (IWCIM)</name> <dates>20161027</dates> <unknown tag="mrcbC20-s">20161028</unknown> <place>Reggio Calabria</place> <country>IT</country> </action> <RIV>BD</RIV> <reportyear>2017</reportyear> <num_of_auth>2</num_of_auth> <presentation_type> PR </presentation_type> <inst_support> RVO:67985556 </inst_support> <permalink>http://hdl.handle.net/11104/0268913</permalink> <unknown tag="mrcbC61"> 1 </unknown> <confidential>S</confidential> <article_num> 16 </article_num> <unknown tag="mrcbC86"> 3+4 Proceedings Paper Automation Control Systems|Instruments Instrumentation|Robotics </unknown> <arlyear>2016</arlyear> <unknown tag="mrcbU14"> 85010977175 SCOPUS </unknown> <unknown tag="mrcbU24"> PUBMED </unknown> <unknown tag="mrcbU34"> 000392205700005 WOS </unknown> <unknown tag="mrcbU63"> cav_un_epca*0469424 2016 International Workshop on Computational Intelligence for Multimedia Understanding (IWCIM) 978-1-5090-5525-8 1 5 USA IEEE 2016 </unknown> </cas_special> </bibitem>
