Although the concept of the BRDF is widely used in computer graphics and related applications, the number of actual captured BRDFs is limited due to a time and resources demanding measurement process. Several BRDF databases have already been provided publicly, yet subjective properties of underlying captured material samples, apart from single photographs, remain unavailable for users. In this paper we analyzed material samples, used in the creation of the UTIA BRDF database, in a psychophysical study with nine subjects and assessed its twelve visual, tactile, and subjective attributes. Further, we evaluated the relationship between the attributes and six material categories. We consider the presented perceptual analysis as valuable and complementary information to the database, that could aid users to select appropriate materials for their applications.
<result_subspec>WOS</result_subspec> <RIV>BD</RIV> <FORD0>20000</FORD0> <FORD1>20200</FORD1> <FORD2>20205</FORD2> <reportyear>2020</reportyear> <num_of_auth>2</num_of_auth> <unknown tag="mrcbC52"> 4 A hod 4ah 20231122143808.3 </unknown> <inst_support> RVO:67985556 </inst_support> <permalink>http://hdl.handle.net/11104/0293335</permalink> <unknown tag="mrcbC61"> 1 </unknown> <unknown tag="mrcbC64"> 1 Department of Pattern Recognition UTIA-B 10201 COMPUTER SCIENCE, ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE </unknown> <confidential>S</confidential> <article_num> 1 </article_num> <unknown tag="mrcbC86"> 1 Article Optics </unknown> <unknown tag="mrcbC91"> C </unknown> <unknown tag="mrcbT16-e">COMPUTERSCIENCE.SOFTWAREENGINEERING</unknown> <unknown tag="mrcbT16-f">1.339</unknown> <unknown tag="mrcbT16-g">0.286</unknown> <unknown tag="mrcbT16-h">9.4</unknown> <unknown tag="mrcbT16-i">0.00057</unknown> <unknown tag="mrcbT16-j">0.409</unknown> <unknown tag="mrcbT16-k">486</unknown> <unknown tag="mrcbT16-q">60</unknown> <unknown tag="mrcbT16-s">0.489</unknown> <unknown tag="mrcbT16-y">41.82</unknown> <unknown tag="mrcbT16-x">2.9</unknown> <unknown tag="mrcbT16-3">191</unknown> <unknown tag="mrcbT16-4">Q2</unknown> <unknown tag="mrcbT16-5">1.333</unknown> <unknown tag="mrcbT16-6">21</unknown> <unknown tag="mrcbT16-7">Q3</unknown> <unknown tag="mrcbT16-B">48.642</unknown> <unknown tag="mrcbT16-C">42.1</unknown> <unknown tag="mrcbT16-D">Q3</unknown> <unknown tag="mrcbT16-E">Q4</unknown> <unknown tag="mrcbT16-M">0.72</unknown> <unknown tag="mrcbT16-N">Q2</unknown> <unknown tag="mrcbT16-P">42.13</unknown> <arlyear>2019</arlyear> <unknown tag="mrcbTft"> Soubory v repozitáři: filip-0501036.pdf </unknown> <unknown tag="mrcbU14"> 85061215223 SCOPUS </unknown> <unknown tag="mrcbU24"> PUBMED </unknown> <unknown tag="mrcbU34"> 000460393600001 WOS </unknown> <unknown tag="mrcbU56"> PDF 15MB </unknown> <unknown tag="mrcbU63"> cav_un_epca*0329828 ACM Transactions on Applied Perception 1544-3558 1544-3965 Roč. 16 č. 1 2019 Association for Computing Machinery </unknown> </cas_special> </bibitem>
