We brie fly overview the development of traffic flow theory based on continuous flow-density models of Lighthill-Whitham-Richards (LWR) type, that lead to the second-order model of Aw-Rascle. We will then concentrate on widely-adopted discrete approximation to the LWR model by Daganzo's Cell Transmission Model. Behaviour of the discussed models will be demonstrated by comparing the traffic flow prediction based on these models with real traffic data on the southern highway ring of Prague.
<action target=""> <ARLID>cav_un_auth*0079566</ARLID> <name>Programy a algoritmy numerické matematiky /7./</name> <dates>13.06.1994-17.06.1994</dates> <place>Bratříkov</place> <country>CZ</country> </action> <RIV>BB</RIV> <FORD0>10000</FORD0> <FORD1>10100</FORD1> <FORD2>10103</FORD2> <reportyear>2020</reportyear> <num_of_auth>2</num_of_auth> <presentation_type> PR </presentation_type> <inst_support> RVO:67985556 </inst_support> <permalink>http://hdl.handle.net/11104/0298020</permalink> <confidential>S</confidential> <arlyear>2015</arlyear> <unknown tag="mrcbU14"> SCOPUS </unknown> <unknown tag="mrcbU24"> PUBMED </unknown> <unknown tag="mrcbU34"> 000380564700011 WOS </unknown> <unknown tag="mrcbU63"> cav_un_epca*0442997 Programs and algorithms of numerical mathematics 17.
