Against this background we study the impact of boundedly rational perceptions for the dynamics of epidemics such as the COVID-19 pandemic in a standard epidemic model extended by a stylized macroeconomic dimension similar to Atkeson et al. (2021). We illustrate through which channels misperceptions or even “scepticism” concerning the infectiousness of the disease or its mortality rate may undermine the effectiveness of lockdowns and other public health policies in the long-run.
<reportyear>2025</reportyear> <RIV>AH</RIV> <result_subspec>WOS</result_subspec> <FORD0>50000</FORD0> <FORD1>50200</FORD1> <FORD2>50202</FORD2> <num_of_auth>3</num_of_auth> <unknown tag="mrcbC52"> 2 R hod 4 4rh 4 20250310151922.4 4 20250310153246.3 </unknown> <inst_support> RVO:67985556 </inst_support> <permalink>https://hdl.handle.net/11104/0348312</permalink> <confidential>S</confidential> <unknown tag="mrcbC91"> A </unknown> <unknown tag="mrcbT16-e">ECONOMICS</unknown> <unknown tag="mrcbT16-f">2.6</unknown> <unknown tag="mrcbT16-g">0.4</unknown> <unknown tag="mrcbT16-h">8.4</unknown> <unknown tag="mrcbT16-i">0.02045</unknown> <unknown tag="mrcbT16-j">1.27</unknown> <unknown tag="mrcbT16-k">13912</unknown> <unknown tag="mrcbT16-q">144</unknown> <unknown tag="mrcbT16-s">1.437</unknown> <unknown tag="mrcbT16-y">55.85</unknown> <unknown tag="mrcbT16-x">2.63</unknown> <unknown tag="mrcbT16-3">3910</unknown> <unknown tag="mrcbT16-4">Q1</unknown> <unknown tag="mrcbT16-5">2.200</unknown> <unknown tag="mrcbT16-6">381</unknown> <unknown tag="mrcbT16-7">Q2</unknown> <unknown tag="mrcbT16-C">71.9</unknown> <unknown tag="mrcbT16-M">0.75</unknown> <unknown tag="mrcbT16-N">Q2</unknown> <unknown tag="mrcbT16-P">71.9</unknown> <arlyear>2024</arlyear> <unknown tag="mrcbTft"> Soubory v repozitáři: kukacka-0579211.pdf </unknown> <unknown tag="mrcbU14"> 85177885695 SCOPUS </unknown> <unknown tag="mrcbU24"> PUBMED </unknown> <unknown tag="mrcbU34"> 001124876200001 WOS </unknown> <unknown tag="mrcbU63"> cav_un_epca*0251194 Journal of Economic Behavior & Organization 0167-2681 1879-1751 Roč. 217 č. 1 2024 312 333 Elsevier </unknown> </cas_special> </bibitem>
