The enrichment consists in nonlocal treatment of three terms in the expression for the potential energy density of the standard micromorphic continuum. After proper calibration, such a formulation can exactly reproduce two given branches of the dispersion curve (acoustic and optical), even in cases with a band gap. The calibration process exploits Fourier images of the unknown weight functions, which are analytically deduced from the dispersion relation of the material of interest. The weight functions are then reconstructed in the spatial domain by numerical evaluation of the inverse Fourier transform. The presented approach is validated on several examples, including discrete mass–spring chains with alternating masses, for which the dispersion relation has an explicit analytical form and the optical and acoustic branches are separated by a band gap.
<result_subspec>WOS</result_subspec> <RIV>BM</RIV> <FORD0>10000</FORD0> <FORD1>10300</FORD1> <FORD2>10302</FORD2> <reportyear>2026</reportyear> <inst_support> RVO:67985556 </inst_support> <permalink>https://hdl.handle.net/11104/0376948</permalink> <cooperation> <ARLID>cav_un_auth*0505484</ARLID> <name>Czech Technical University in Prague, Faculty of Civil Engineering, Department of Mechanics</name> <institution>CVUT-FSV-MECH</institution> <country>CZ</country> </cooperation> <confidential>S</confidential> <article_num> 104147 </article_num> <unknown tag="mrcbC91"> C </unknown> <unknown tag="mrcbT16-e">ENGINEERING.MULTIDISCIPLINARY</unknown> <unknown tag="mrcbT16-f">4.8</unknown> <unknown tag="mrcbT16-g">1.7</unknown> <unknown tag="mrcbT16-h">12.6</unknown> <unknown tag="mrcbT16-i">0.00354</unknown> <unknown tag="mrcbT16-j">0.859</unknown> <unknown tag="mrcbT16-k">10694</unknown> <unknown tag="mrcbT16-q">136</unknown> <unknown tag="mrcbT16-s">1.488</unknown> <unknown tag="mrcbT16-y">61.61</unknown> <unknown tag="mrcbT16-x">6.34</unknown> <unknown tag="mrcbT16-3">1538</unknown> <unknown tag="mrcbT16-4">Q1</unknown> <unknown tag="mrcbT16-5">4.100</unknown> <unknown tag="mrcbT16-6">101</unknown> <unknown tag="mrcbT16-7">Q1</unknown> <unknown tag="mrcbT16-C">91.3</unknown> <unknown tag="mrcbT16-M">1.81</unknown> <unknown tag="mrcbT16-N">Q1</unknown> <unknown tag="mrcbT16-P">91.3</unknown> <arlyear>2024</arlyear> <unknown tag="mrcbU14"> 85203801370 SCOPUS </unknown> <unknown tag="mrcbU24"> PUBMED </unknown> <unknown tag="mrcbU34"> 001317424500001 WOS </unknown> <unknown tag="mrcbU63"> cav_un_epca*0256790 International Journal of Engineering Science 205 1 2024 0020-7225 1879-2197 Elsevier </unknown> </cas_special> </bibitem>
