abstract (eng) Potential failures occurred in man–made processes can cause dangerous phenomena resulting in an accidental release of harmful substances into the living environment. Risk evaluation and the decision making focused on the population protection has the highest priority. Former accidents on nuclear facilities revealed lack of proper advanced decision support software tools. Great attention to this topic is paid since the Chernobyl disaster. Presented software system HARP (HAzardous Radioactivity Propagation) is designed for fast assessment of radiological consequences of such a release of radionuclides into the environment.
