The paper deals with the statistical analysis of the breaking strengths of textile yarn composed from a set of strands. We study the problem of predicting the reliability of the yarn, in the framework of the load - sharing scheme, provided the reliability of its strands is known. Statistical test is proposed for the comparison of expected (predicted) survival of the yarn with observed data. |
