abstract (eng) New necessary and sufficient conditions are formulated for checking stability of a 2-D polynomial matrix. The conditions are expressed as a non-convex rank-one OMI problem derived from a formulation of the stability problem as a quadratic optimization problem. Sufficient stability conditions expressed as a convex LMI problem are readily derived from this formulation.
