abstract (eng) Overlapping decentralized control design has been performed for the cable-stayed bridge benchmark. This problem deals with a long span cable-stayed bridge with two main towers, each one with over hundred cables attached to. First, the paper constructively describes a procedure in which the overall finite element model of the cable-stayed bridge is decomposed into two overlappping subsystems. Then, the effectivness of the consequent overlapping decentralized control design is tested by numerical simulations.
