Anotation:
The tasks of specialized image processing, particularly of ultrasonic computed tomography, require an enourmous computing power should the problems be solvable in minutes instead of days or weeks as on a powerfull PC. Such a need has lead in our team to establishing a research subbranch devoted to formulating and implementing a suitable parallel computing environment based on tens of available powerful workstations, which are connected by local area networks and often sit idle for very long periods (e.g. during night etc). The purpose of this poster is to inform about the concept of the s.c. High-Throughput Computing (HTC) environment and to present the first experience with its implementation.
