Anotation:

We present a system for processing, description and archiving material analyses used during art restoration - Nephele. The Nephele system is a database system for material analysis reports, extended with image preprocessing modules and image retrieval facility. The implemented digital image processing methods are image registration, layers segmentation, and grains segmentation, in the archiving part image-based retrieval methods was included.
