Factorization in Dempster-Shafer theory: dead end or starting point to real-life applications?

Description:
As a motivation, different types of factorization within probability theory will be recalled. Some of them will be constructed also in D-S theory (e.g. factorization corresponding to decomposable models), others give rise to new open problems.
