Optimization of Working Shifts by the Bayesian Decision Support [file]

Complex industrial processes make considerable demands on persons being involved. Probabilistic data-based Bayesian approach enables to apply a decision-support tool providing recommendations to process operators aiming at statistical improvement of product quality markers. The case study assesses quality of products made by four operator shifts under similar conditions. Three types of advising strategy are being compared on a specific subset of production modes. Data from a four-high cold reversing rolling mill were used for experiments.
