Intention of the conference was to create an opportunity especially for young research workers to present state of the art of their research activities in applied sciences in a broader sense, particularly in applied mathematics, applied mechanics, computer science and engineering, cybernetics, plasma physics and physics of thin films. All submitted papers were reviewed and 37 papers were accepted. General chair of the conference was Prof. Ing. Miroslav Šimandl, CSc. and editor of the conference proceedings book was Ing. Ladislav Král, Ph.D. The conference proceedings book was published by University of West Bohemia with ISBN 978-80-7043-574-8.
